Cellulose Powder Can Relieve Hay Fever In Children!
Cellulose powder for allergic rhinitis was in use for several years, but its efficiency in treating hay fever in children was not scientifically proved.
A recent study has shown that the cellulose powder not only decreases the symptoms of seasonal allergic rhinitis in children but also does not have any ill-effect on the child’s body.
The cellulose powder which is produced from pine trees works by forming a protective layer on the mucus membrane when inhaled through the nose. It filters out substances that cause allergy.
The study which was conducted at the Queen Silvia Children’s Hospital, Gothenburg involved 53 individuals aged between 8 and 18 years, all of whom were allergic to pollen. The study lasted for 4 weeks and the cellulose powder was inhaled 3 times per day. In addition, antihistamine tablet was taken by them on a daily basis.
Through the study it was shown that the symptoms associated with allergic reactions were reduced in those who used the cellulose powder without any side effects.
