Coffee Can Protect Against Alzheimer’s – Study Reveals!
If you are at a high risk of developing Alzheimer’s and if you are not a great fan of coffee, think again! After reading this article, you sure will make it a point to have at least one cup of coffee everyday.
A recent study conducted on mice models by a team of researchers from the University of South Florida found that an ingredient in the coffee interacts with caffeine and boosts the levels of an important growth factor in the blood that fights against Alzheimer’s.
According to this new study which was conducted on mice with Alzheimer’s, it was observed that the coffee rich in caffeine increases the levels of granulocyte colony stimulating factor (GCSF), a growth factor whose levels are decreased in people suffering from Alzheimer’s. The mice when treated with it showed an improvement in memory.
The effects of caffeinated and decaffeinated coffee with that of caffeine alone were compared in this study. Caffeinated coffee increased the blood levels of GCSF in both normal and Alzheimer’s mice.
