Prevent Obesity With Healthy Intestinal Bacteria!
A recent study conducted on rats has revealed interesting results linking obesity and intestinal bacteria. A lactic acid bacterium named Lactobacillus plantarum HEAL19 taken daily has the capacity to decrease body inflammation and prevent obesity.
According to Caroline Karlsson, a food hygiene researcher at Lund University, rats that were given this bacterium from the time when they were in the uterus till their adult age gained significantly less weight when compared to other group of rats. Both the groups were provided with the same amount of energy rich food.
A third group of rats were given Escherichia coli (E.coli) through drinking water, the bacterium that causes inflammation. Apart from this, same amount of energy rich food was given.
The E.coli in the third group of rats brought changes in the healthy intestinal bacterial levels and aided in piling up the body weight.
Healthy levels of intestinal bacteria in the early stages of a baby’s life are very important for its well-being in the later stages of life.
