Wearing dry clothes after swimming or exercising is a good practice advised by the health professionals. Wearing loose clothes and putting anti-fungal powders in the groin can also prevent this condition.

Treatment of Jock Itch:
Antifungal medications are prescribed by the doctors to treat this condition. These medications work by stopping the production of a chemical called ergosterol in these funguses which ultimately lead to their death.

There is a possibility of the spreading to this condition to fresh location owing to starching. It can be addressed by combining the prescribed medications with steroids. The symptoms are brought to check without further worsening of the condition. However, prescription of steroids is done with discretion as they suppress the natural protection mechanism or the immune system of the body.
