Alcohol Abuse and Dependency Not Being Considered Seriously by American Adults
Only a mere 1.2 percent of the 7.4 million American adults between the ages 21-64 reckon that they require treatment for their problem with alcohol abuse. While only 7.8 percent agreed that they needed treatment for alcohol dependency. This report was part of a survey conducted by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration. The survey just goes to suggest that millions of drinkers across the US are not considering this a serious problem at all.
Both alcohol abuse and dependency can affect one’s own life and the others associated with him/her. For instance, alcohol abuse can land a person in legal troubles, work related issues and family problems. On the other hand, dependency, which is a bigger issue than alcohol abuse can affect the overall health of a person pretty badly apart from other social problems and troubles.
