Travel and Staying Well with Allergy and Asthma
An unexpected attack of asthma or allergies may put a damper on the travel plans. Sometimes, a new environment may trigger asthma and allergy symptoms which puts you out of commission completely. Hence, before planning a trip, you must consider the asthma or your allergies and take necessary precautions in order to prevent those symptoms while you are away. Pollution, humidity, cold air and pollen are the possible triggers of allergies and asthma when you are traveling.
You can follow some simple measures to prevent the flare-up of asthma and allergies when you are at the destination too. For instance, if you are traveling to a place where the count of pollen is high, try to stay indoors wherein you can close the windows and switching on the air conditioning from early hours to 4 p.m. You can also avoid traveling in these times too. Keep the windows closed while riding a car. You must also stay away from cigarette smoke – it certainly triggers the symptoms.
