Cough and sore throat are not diseases, but rather these are symptoms of other disorders.   • Never take more than the required dose.
  • Carefully read and follow the directions on the medicine bottle and box.

  • Regularly clean TV remotes, telephones and computer keyboards with a sanitizing cleanser.
  • Avoid touching public phones or drinking fountains with your mouth.
  • Avoid people suffering from sore throat.
  • Quit the use of tobacco.
  • Drink enough fluids to prevent dehydration.
  • Wash your hands with soap and water or any sanitizing liquids.
  • Maintain a healthy lifestyle by eating a balanced diet.

Home Remedies for Cough and Sore Throat
Some of the common home remedies include:

  • Fill one cut lemon with black pepper powder and salt and suck to reduce the cough.
  • Take one teaspoon of honey and add a pinch of grounded pepper and take this regularly for two to three times a day.
  • Eat garlic in the nights with meals twice a week and this will provide relief from cough.
  • Take warm spinach juice gargling as this soothes the throat and relieves cough.
  • Chew 4 leaves of holy basil and 4 black peppers to prevent cough.
  • Extract the juice from the onions and mix it with honey. Take this 2 – 3 times a day.
  • Mix white vinegar,water, salt and crushed vitamin C together and gargle.
  • Drink plenty of liquids.
  • Mix a cup of warm water with 2 tsp of honey and the juice of one lemon. Sip this juice as this is very soothing to the throat.
  • Every day gargle with salt water for few hours.
  • A tea made from aniseed and holy basil can be taken regularly.
  • Take some eucalyptus leaves and mint leaves and boil them together in water. This helps in curing cough.
  • The root of turmeric can be roasted and grounded and this powder can be taken twice daily.
  • A combination of honey with grape juice is beneficial for cough.
  • Eat a healthy diet and maintain a healthy lifestyle to prevent such infections like cough and sore throat.
