Treatment of Cyclical Breast Pain

In another case, if your breast pain started when you begin to consume contraceptive pill, change the dose into smaller one or take a different brand. Probably these steps would help you to reduce the pain. If your pain still continues, a non-hormonal method such as diaphragm (cap) or condoms worth to give a try.

You better be careful If you have low levels of an essential fatty acid (well known as gamolenic acid (GLA). Low levels of GLA may contribute to cyclical breast pain. Nonetheless, recent studies shown that there is no enhancement if you take additional gamolenic acid.

In spite of this fact, your doctor might suggest you to take evening primrose oil. Evening primrose oil contains GLA and some women have found GLA helps to ease the pain. Ask your doctor about the proper dose and how long you should take evening primrose oil.

Although evening primrose oil usually does not cause side effects, you might experience headaches, an upset stomach, or nausea. It would be better for you not to take evening primrose oil when you are trying to get pregnant or already pregnant. People who suffer with epilepsy are also not advisable to take evening primrose oil.
