Pregnant women at high risk in swine flu complications
The pregnant women are expected to be in a tricky situation because of the swine flu. The government has put pregnant women at first in the list of people who are at high risk due to swine flu.
The pregnant women will be given the vaccine in the vaccination campaign which is chartered in October.
The crucial decision has been taken after six pregnant women were reported dead by the Centers for Disease Control.
Apart from this, thirty-four swine flu cases have been confirmed in pregnant women. Eleven women were admitted in the hospital with acute respiratory illness.
After pregnant women, the health care workers, children who are six months and older and young adults aged 19 to 24 will be given priority in the vaccination campaign.
The decision has been taken by a fifteen member panel of the Advisory committee on Immunization Practices.
