Swine Flu hits Chandigarh
One more Indian city is been detected as the victim of swine flu. This time it is Chandigarh where two persons including a doctor has been tested positive H1N1 influenza on Sunday.
According to Union Territory’s health department, one of the victims is a 29 year old doctor from Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PIMER) and another is a 50 year old woman.
The doctor recently attended a seminar in United Kingdom and the 50-year woman recently returned from her tour of Singapore.
According to sources, the test conducted by the National Institute of Communicable Diseases (NICD). New Delhi, also confirmed the presence of H1N1 virus in their medical samples.
Dr H.C.Gera, Chandigarh’s nodal officer for swine flu cases, stated that the patients are been treated in isolated wards, and all precautionary measures are been taken in their treatment.
